Lipid Nanoparticle Program
The goals of the Lipid Nanoparticle Program (LNP) are to develop methods to assess the diverse properties and functions of HDL and discover dietary strategies for improving them. HDL is known for its positive effects on cardiovascular health. HDL lipoproteins are now recognized as nanoparticles of the innate immune system whose actions are vital in preventing blood-borne infections and intoxications. LNP researchers are using the tools of nanoscience to isolate, characterize and reformulate HDL as the path to the next generation of health assessment technologies, HDL-based therapies, and food-based solutions for improving HDL function.
